Many of you have probably heard about the actions of this administration on the issue of Climate Change. But not many people actually know the specific details of what is going on. So let’s get into it.
One of the biggest actions that the Trump Administration has taken so far is regulating the EPA. The EPA, or the Environmental Protection Agency, is a governmental agency which aims to protect the environment against climate change.
The agency was started in 1970 by President Richard Nixon. Recently, President Trump has severely regulated this agency by proposing cuts to funding, ending vital programs, and reducing oversight on toxic chemicals.
Additionally, going against the wishes of the EPA, this administration has promoted a policy of “energy dominance”, bringing back internal gas and oil production as well as implementing the use of coal.
All of these actions are having a detrimental effect on the state of our climate. It is so important that we all continue to fight for our planet and ensure that those in power are looking out for the future of our climate.
